Camp Fire USA provides daily school age care at two elementary schools in the Hueneme School District (Bard & Hueneme), one in the Rio School District (Rio Plaza), one in the Ventura Unified School District (Saticoy), and one in the Oxnard Elementary School District (McAuliffe). Funding for the Hueneme, Ventura and Rio locations provides subsidized care to low-income families through a latchkey grant from the California Department of Education Child Development Division. Standard review by the Child Development Division and Community Care Licensing ensures that the program meets educational and administrative standards. The McAuliffe program in Oxnard is a fee based program with scholarships provided by the Harriet Samuellson Foundation.

Eligibility ages for the licensed centers are outlined in the grant from the California Department of Education (CDE) Child Development Division as: enrolled in kindergarten and 4.75 years of age to 13 years of age. A fee schedule and income eligibility is also based by levels set by the CDE Child Development Division. Fees for families not income eligible for subsidized care are set by the Council's Board of Directors in line with the subsidized levels. The goal is that 80% of the families served are low-income and are receiving subsidized care.
The McAuliffe program is for students who attend or whose home school is Christa McAuliffe Elementary School. The program operates every school day from 1:10-5:30 so afternoon kindergarten children can be served and all other school age children are eligible. Fees are currently $8.50 per day for the first child, $7 per day for subsequent children in the same family. This program is operated as a "drop-in" site, where fees are charged only for the days attended. This flexibility has allowed parents with various work schedules to have a safe place for their children but not have their child required to attend some of the state-funded after school programs.
